The following pictures of of wainscoting. In this particular case we used Vertical Grain (VG) fir. The product itself has a v-groove. Other variations are available with availability being strongest in the v-groove and beaded variations. Applications of this product is relatively simple and nearly any craftsperson is capable of tackling such a project, although your specific situation may call for special measures. The bottom two photos depict the galley ladder which can be found also on the link titled "Galley Ladder" on the "Previous Works" page. The detail here is a bit more complex and should be left to experienced woodworkers. In this particular project we used a water-borne floor finish (Pacific Strong) which has a catalyzing agent to ensure rugged durability. This product was brush applied and a quick note for homeowners: although finishing of this product may appear easy, it can prove to be quite difficult as most finishes, with the exception of varnishes, are very thin and vertical surfaces are conducive to drips and runs which can quickly destroy your project or at least give you ample opportunity to learn how to use sand paper. However you choose to have this project done you can easily see that the result is absolutely beautiful !
