Awhile back I had a page up dedicated to an Industrial space that I had helped to convert to studios in Minneapolis. I was a little reluctant to put pictures on as the project did not provide much along the lines of woodworking as I was mainly the project manager for the duration of the construction. Well, I have good news. I have recently begun a very similar project which is turning out quite beautifully. It was an old warehouse/millwork building in the uptown region of Minneapolis. The owner asked me to come in and complete the woodworking in a couple of spaces; one of which is now a lawyers office and one is occupied by an architect. I have yet to get pictures of these spaces but outside of this space, and one which is yet to be completed, is a common area which was done in the same general style as the office spaces. If you are interested in the final space, please feel free to contact me ! The first few pictures are of the unoccupied space so you can get an idea of what it looked like before we attacked.
The next few pictures are of the common space where there is a modest kitchen and table with plenty of space for artwork. I will soon have pictures of the spaces as they are completed and occupied. One quick note, the picture above has a brick wall. This brick wall will have a 9 ft. glass/aluminum garage door and will look out on the bike/walking path that runs East/West through uptown.
You can see the entry to the unoccupied space above. The grey doors in the above picture will also be a common storage/closet area.
Full access to 5000 lb freight elevator.
Main access is provided by the maple door in the picture above.
Again, you can see the access to the unoccupied space above. Please feel free to contact me for information in regards to this space. (Commercial only) Over the next couple of weeks I will get pictures of the occupied spaces which are much more explicit in regards to the woodworking details which are certainly unique to this space.
