Boat Cabinet

Home Up

This project involved the construction of a series of cabinets for a pontoon boat. The customer wanted Mahogany cabinets with Cocobolo panels in the doors. There was also a need for an ice chest as well as a water reservoir which would feed a sink. The pump for this water supply is a foot pump and is located in the toe kick region of the cabinet. This is a very beautiful cabinet and unfortunately I do not have any photos of the work I primarily performed on this project which was a stereo cabinet of the same design theme. My primary influence on this piece was some of the detail work, the curved door and the design of the water system. I also participated in some of the design consult. I am offering these as photos in previous work as it offers you an idea of the part of the project which I did work on for which I do not have photos for.

The curved door became my responsibility as to the bane of Richard (owner of Lamprey Pass Workshop) in this project, Cocobolo is toxic and he did succumb to a horrible rash. A word to the wise ~ please be careful when working with wood as you may be allergic and the consequences may not be in your best interest.

This cabinet is 100% solid Mahogany or Cocobolo, even the panels are solid wood !

This project was originally contracted by Lamprey Pass Workshop and sub-contracting done by Angelheart Woodworking.
