This was a bathroom remodel on a coastal Californian home.  This originally was a small and dimly lit laundry room.  We took a 6' X 14' area and created a bathroom and a pantry room.  The walls are 1X6 T&G Pine, the floors clear VG Fir.  All fixtures are custom ordered from Italy.  Above this bathroom and Pantry is a small, low ceiling meditation room with plans for a window overlooking the bay on which this home sits. 

The angled soffet above the lavatory receives, on the other side of the wall where the pantry is located, the Galley Ladder which is used to access the meditation room. 

Doug Fir certainly does provide a floor with character !

This window is a "bump-out" which overlooks the bay and the hills on the opposite side of the bay.
